As of year-end 2007, 69 percent of 15-74 year olds in Sweden had access to broadband. This means that the consumer market for broadband grew by 13 percent last year. Mediavision estimates that approximately 150,000 consumers between the ages of 15-74 have mobile broadband today.

The number of mobile broadband customers is steadily growing. Mediavision shows in its latest analysis of the Swedish broadband market that almost 10 percent of all 15-74 year olds say that they plan to subscribe to mobile broadband within the next year.

Online video reach in Sweden is increasing rapidly. During the third quarter, one out of ten 15-74 year olds answered that they watched online video “yesterday”. This past year can be considered the year that online video had its breakthrough. Mediavision follows the development of online video on a daily basis and can therefore present daily reach.

As of June 2007, 61 percent of all Swedish households used a broadband connection to access Internet. During the past year, penetration growth reached 13 percent, which represents a decrease compared to previous years. An additional sign that the broadband market is moving towards maturity is the increase in consumption of media and content services, which in turn has led to a rapid increase in online advertising.

In Mediavision’s TV Tracking for Q2 2007, approximately 5,500 people between the ages 15-74 were interviewed about their TV habits and digital TV.

As of June 2007, 64 percent of Swedish households had a broadband connection, the same penetration rate as in Q1 2007. Over the past twelve months, however, broadband penetration increased approximately 15 percent. This indicates that growth is slowing, and the market is showing clear signs of reaching maturity.

22 percent of 15-74 year olds in Sweden say that they watched TV online at least once during the past month. This corresponds to almost 1.5 million viewers. Aftonbladet and SVT reached the most viewers during the past month.

1.8 million Norwegians between the ages of 15 to 74 have access to digital TV. This is the result of a survey conducted by consultancy firm Mediavision AB during the fourth quarter of 2007.
